The Lost Sampaguita

Mina was asked to care for her grandmother’s sampaguita plant for one week. On the first two days she watered it carefully. On the third day, she became busy playing and forgot. By the fifth day, several leaves had drooped. Mina wanted to hide the plant behind a larger pot, but Kuwago asked, “Will hiding the problem help the flower?” Mina admitted what happened. Her grandmother did not shout. Instead, they checked the soil, moved the plant to gentler sunlight, and made a simple watering calendar. Days later, new buds appeared. Mina learned that responsibility does not mean never making mistakes. It means noticing them, telling the truth, and doing the work needed to repair what we can.
Moral Lesson
Responsibility means caring consistently and correcting mistakes instead of hiding them.
